ABOUT
Dr. Michael Edwards
THE BEGINNING
Mike Edwards met and married the love of his life while they were both students at the University of Cincinnati. It was through the ministry of Landmark Baptist Church in Cincinnati that he became a believer in 1975. God transformed his heart, and soon redirected his path with a call to the ministry and the pursuit of a theology degree.

His first place of service was as a youth leader at Allegheny Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he ministered four years before sensing the Lord’s call to plant a church. The mentorship of Pastor B.H. Barrs and counsel of Pastor Karl Skinner were greatly used by God to lead Mike and his family to Woodbridge, Virginia, in 1981 where they planted Heritage Baptist Church.

THE FUTURE
After 37 years as Senior Pastor of Heritage and 41 years of pastoral ministry the Lord directed Dr. and Mrs. Edwards to begin Share Point Ministries. Share Point Ministries is designed to allow Dr. and Mrs. Edwards to share their experience in pastoral ministry, to encourage other ministry couples and congregations, and above all to share Jesus Christ with a needy world.

Pastor Edwards loves biographies, the outdoors (especially fishing), his wife Nancy more than anything else on earth, and their three children and seven grandchildren. A day with the grandkids watching the Washington Nationals is a pretty good deal, too.

Second Corinthians 8:9 is the verse that guides his life: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.” The wonder of Christ’s sacrifice and the faithfulness of God daily motivate Dr. Edwards and Mrs. Edwards as they seek to encourage congregations and pastors in serving Jesus Christ.
"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts."
